Re: Mike Lorentz and Carson Tours

Recently I had the opportunity to participate in a media tour sponsored by Travel Alberta to Edmonton and Northern Alberta.

Mike Lorentz, owner of Carson Tours, was the principal service provider chosen by Travel Alberta.

Having spent a week of intense and very stimulating touring with Mike, other travel writers, tourism agents, and Travel Alberta personnel, I am in a good position to provide a reference for Mike and do so with pleasure.

As our driver and tour guide, Mike provided service that was seamless, intelligent, courteous, friendly, and of the highest quality I have experienced in this business.

Mike has all the professional qualities and attributes one could wish for in this key position. His human relations and communications skills are the best I have encountered in someone in his role -- a role that is critical to a successful tour whether it be of media or the travelling public. Mike is very well-prepared both in terms of his knowledge of the destinations and in terms of the needs of the individuals in his party. His keen awareness of group dynamics and his ability to communicate effectively with the group as a whole as well as with the individuals in the group is most definitely in the superior range. His high standards of safety and personal security are also a very important part of his business.

By the end of our trip, Mike embodied Alberta. His confidence, enlightened awareness of his surroundings, respect for his clients, and sense of humour were fundamental to this very successful media tour.
